Some Rules You Just Have to Follow Have you ever heard the saying “it’s easier to ask for forgiveness, than permission?” Sometimes that might be true, but not for the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) rules which take effect May 2018. That may seem far into the future, but it’s really not – and it’s never too soon to start preparing for it! Here at Act-On, we’ve started our own preparations and want to make sure our customers are also ready when the change takes place. Act-On’s David Fowler, Head of Privacy, Compliance, Deliverability just wrapped up a great presentation on what the GDPR is, what your obligations are if you market to any EU citizen (regardless of where you – or they – are located), how it affects marketers’ day-to-day responsibilities and the resources available to help you gather more information.
We won’t leave you hanging! Over the course of the year we’ll be right by your side. We’ll continue to host webinars, send email updates, share how Act-On is preparing, provide resources, and add educational videos to the University to help you along your way. New Suite of Social Marketing Features Available in Labs All Act-On customers now have access to a full suite of new social marketing tools for Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn which includes: Social Listener, Social Publish, and Social Analytics. Now you can track the engagement of both known and unknown visitors and measure the impact of your social media marketing activities, including:
- the number of clicks each post receives;
- day/time that drives highest engagement; and,
- total engagement by social network (e.g. Facebook = Likes, Comments, and Shares.)
